What happens next

1. Confirmation email — course name, amount, and a link back to this page. Save it for your records.
2. Calendar hold — block the course week on your calendar once dates are confirmed for your seat.
3. Logistics packet — closer to the start date you’ll receive lodging, meeting point, and day-by-day field notes.
4. Course website access — opens 1 month before the course start date and remains available for 3 months.
5. Company PO / wire — if your organization pays by purchase order or wire instead of card, email us and we’ll send instructions.

Access reminder: course website, 3D models, technical materials, and field tools open 1 month before start — never “3 months before.” Duration of access is 3 months.

What to expect

• Lodging, breakfasts, field lunches, and ground transport are typically included in the public package (see your course page for exact inclusions).
• Flights are not included — book your own travel to/from the course gateway airport.
• A safety briefing and field protocols are part of every Geology Field School week.
• Materials and 3D models are delivered on the course website (access timing above).
• Field instruction is led by the published course instructors; Geology Field School runs logistics and field ops.

Prep checklist

• Valid passport or government ID if your travel requires it
• Travel insurance is optional but worth considering for international or multi-leg trips
• Field clothes, sturdy closed-toe boots, sun protection, and layers for coastal or upland weather
• Laptop or tablet if you plan to work with course models and materials on site
• Personal medications and any items you normally travel with — this is not medical advice; pack what you know you need
